Lorcaserin Fda approval time?

So i see the news today that Lorcaserin has been put before the FDA for approval. How long will this take to approve it?

Approval time varies from what the FDA finds. It is my understanding that when a drug is submitted to the FDA, they take into consideration many different aspects including benefits, side effects, need (if everyone on earth were dying from a mysterious condition by the millions and a company apparently had a cure the fda may move faster on the approval of such a medication) etc. They will see what Arena has submitted to them, and go over it with a fine toothed comb. They could reject it, ask for more testing or accept it. It will probably be at least several months away if it is passed.
... I just read that the FDA has 10 months to respond...either yea or nea.
